concert hall in Linz

Brucknerhaus

Linz named its main concert hall after Anton Bruckner, the organist from nearby Ansfelden who spent decades being dismissed by Viennese critics before being rehabilitated as one of the great symphonic composers of the 19th century.

The Brucknerhaus is Linz’s main concert hall, opened in 1974 on the Danube at Untere Donaulande 7. It hosts the annual International Bruckner Festival in September and international orchestral programs year-round. Check brucknerhaus.at for schedule. Book ahead for the Bruckner Festival; tickets from around EUR 15. A 15-minute walk from the Hauptplatz along the river.
