The Böhmertor (Bohemian Gate) at Salzgasse, Freistadt is the 13th-century northern gate of the town’s intact medieval wall circuit, oriented toward the trade route to Bohemia. Free and open to pedestrians. Best seen as part of a walk along the full wall perimeter. Combine with the Bergfried tower and the Braucommune brewery, both in the historic center.

Böhmertor
The Böhmertor is the north gate of Freistadt's intact medieval wall circuit, named for the road it guarded toward Bohemia. The gate tower dates from the 13th century and was the most important entry point for the salt and iron trade moving north through the Mühlviertel plateau.
