The Augustiner Braustuebl in Salzburg’s Muelln district has been brewing and serving beer on this site since 1621. Self-service: fill your own stone mug at the barrel, collect food from the Stehbuffet counters (cold cuts, roast chicken, pretzels), find a seat in the 1,400-seat chestnut courtyard or the vaulted indoor halls. Beer around EUR 4-5 per half-liter. Open from 15:00 on weekdays, 14:30 on weekends. About 15 minutes on foot from the old town, or bus 7/8 to Augustinergasse. No reservations, no table service. The most honest beer hall in Salzburg.

Augustiner Bräustübl Mülln
One of the largest and most atmospheric beer halls in Austria, founded by the Augustinian friars of Mülln in 1621 and run since 1835 by the Benedictine Abbey of Michaelbeuern. Visitors collect beer directly from wooden barrels. The garden seats thousands. Adjacent to Mulln Church.
