A38 Ship

Also known as A38 Hajó

A decommissioned Ukrainian stone-carrier ship permanently moored under the Petöfi Bridge has been Budapest's most distinctive live music venue since 2003. The A38 hosts everything from jazz and folk to electronic and world music, and the upper deck restaurant serves actual food worth eating.

The A38 is a decommissioned Ukrainian cargo ship moored under Budapest’s Petöfi Bridge, converted in 2003 into the city’s most beloved live music venue. The steel hull hosts jazz, folk, electronic, and world music performances on multiple decks, while the upper terrace restaurant offers Danube views with food good enough to justify a visit outside of performance nights. It is reached by tram 4 or 6 to the Petöfi Bridge stop on the Buda side. Check the monthly program at a38.hu before visiting; popular events sell out.
