The Kleinwalsertal is Vorarlberg territory accessible only by road through Oberstdorf in Germany. The valley villages of Riezlern, Hirschegg, and Mittelberg offer good skiing and hiking with lift connections into the neighboring Allgäu ski area. The valley’s loyal guest base is predominantly German. The Breitachklamm gorge near Oberstdorf is a natural extension of the area. About 15 minutes from Oberstdorf by road; no Austrian road access to the valley.
