Filzmoos is a small, family-oriented ski village in the Salzburg Dachstein region, sitting at 1,057 meters below the distinctively double-peaked Bischofsmütze summit. Snow reliability is high for its altitude. The village connects to Ski Amade's larger regional network while maintaining a scale and atmosphere that bigger resorts in the system have lost. The annual hot air balloon festival in January fills the valley with color. In summer, the Dachstein glacier plateau is accessible for day trips and the surrounding alpine pasture trail network is well-maintained. About 1.5 hours from Salzburg by car.
