Faak am See is a quiet family lake village on one of Carinthia’s warmest swimming lakes, with turquoise water, a small island, and the pyramid-shaped Mittagskogel rising above the southern shore. The lake warms to good swimming temperature from June through September. For one week each September, European Bike Week brings around 100,000 motorcycle riders and makes the village unrecognizable. Outside that week, the atmosphere is calm and family-oriented. About 15 minutes from Villach by car; close to the Slovenian border and Lake Bled.

The Faaker See is one of Carinthia's warmest swimming lakes, with turquoise water and a small island that appears in every photograph of the lake. The Mittagskogel, a 2,143-meter pyramid-shaped peak in the Karawanken range, rises directly above the southern shore in a way that gives the lake an almost theatrical framing.
